Ankle / Foot
The functions of the foot is not only to help us to walk, squat, run, and jump, but also to provide a rigid surface from which we can push off and do it again. Many of the muscles that control foot movements have attachment higher in the leg, at the shin. The high stress placed on the feet during athletic participation can cause imbalances in these muscles, leading to bio-mechanical dysfunction. Common injuries like plantar fasciitis may be treated with physiotherapy and/or orthotics.
